Catalyst is a showcase of the work created, and talent nurtured, under the canopy of the Special Projects Unit (SPU) of NAFA, presenting a spectrum of purposeful projects across intersecting disciplines, anchored by exceptional students across the three academic schools of the academy. With this spotlight to boost awareness and spark interest in the Talent Accelerator Programmes among students, staff, alumni and the wider community, it will hopefully seed ideas and intentions for future collaborations.
About Special Projects Unit (SPU)
SPU was established in January 2020 to consolidate efforts — past, ongoing and planned — on talent development across NAFA and focus on the intersections. This formation was a decisive commitment to provide equitable access to coaching, networks and opportunities, with robust administrative, funding and technical support, to help hone creativity and its expression among the NAFA community and beyond. Our multi-pronged approach caters to students, staff and alumni through programmes and initiatives to create local and international projects, while establishing links with institutions and organisations in the arts, education and industry.
