SMU – NAFA Advanced Certificate in Arts Management for Arts Professionals

As the world adapts to the new normal, the arts sector in Singapore needs arts managers more than ever. Production and consumption of the arts is evolving and artists and arts organisations need more support than ever to be sustainable.

Changes in technology and the prolific use of social media are having an impact on how audiences see arts productions. The art forms themselves have also evolved. Inter-disciplinary arts are the new normal. Gone are the days when an artist focuses solely on one art form. Arts organisations are realising that managing the arts is not simply a task which can be done by anyone with knowledge and skills in business or management. Instead, it is an area that requires specialised knowledge and skills.

Offered jointly with SMU Academy, this certificate programme provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to work in an arts organisation. Participants will gain meaningful insights on how the arts can be managed and they will examine trends and issues through engaging with industry experts and their peers.
