Kokedama: The Art of Moss Ball Planting

(1 session x 3 hours)

Discover the beauty of Kokedama, the Japanese art of creating moss ball planters, in this hands-on 3-hour workshop. Learn the traditional technique of binding plant roots in soil and moss, creating a unique, soil-free living sculpture. This workshop will guide you through plant selection, soil preparation, shaping, and wrapping your own Kokedama. Perfect for plant lovers, hobbyists, and anyone looking to add a touch of green to their space in an artistic way! No prior experience is needed; just bring your creativity and love for nature!

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
  1. Describe the history and art of Kokedama
  2. Select suitable plants and materials
  3. Prepare and mix soil correctly
  4. Shape and bind a moss ball
  5. Care for and maintain Kokedama
  6. Create and take home a handcrafted Kokedama

  • A digital certificate will be issued upon successful course completion, which requires a minimum attendance rate of 75%.
  • Please note that no replacement classes are offered for missed lessons.
