Certificate in Watercolour Painting (Advanced)

This course equips learners with advance knowledge and skills in watercolour painting. Learners will study techniques and methods in watercolour while developing their own style of painting. This course focuses on still life and landscape painting for application of skills acquired in different genres. This course is recommended for learners who have successfully completed Certificate in Watercolour Painting (Intermediate).

Terms and Conditions

Learners will be presented with a digital certificate upon successful completion of the course.

Module 1 - Watercolour (Observation and Interpretation) (8 sessions x 3 hours)

This module aims to enhance learners’ ability to observe and paint from still life or landscapes. In addition to gathering reference materials and transforming photos to paintings, learners will be taught a range of techniques and methods such as washes, dry brush and lifting, to create a vibrant and unique interpretation of a picture.

Module 2 - Watercolour (Imagination and Interpretation) (8 sessions x 3 hours)

This module aims to enhance learners’ ability in identifying and analysing characteristics of watercolour painting. This module emphasises the importance of studying elements in watercolour and the insertion of other mediums to bring out the subject and atmosphere of paintings. Through the analysis of the elements, study of intention and interpretation, learners will successfully create works that deliver strong qualities.

Applicants must be 17 years old and above.

Course Prerequisite

For learners who have successfully completed Certificate in Watercolour Painting (Intermediate).

National Silver Academy
Applicable to Singaporean seniors aged 50 and above who will receive a subsidy of 50% off the course fee (capped at $500 per course). Please take note that the subsidy will only apply to the course fee and will not cover GST.

SkillsFuture Credit
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Union Training Assistance Programme

Refund of Fees

Withdrawal before the course commencement date Course fee^ will be refunded after deduction of S$107.00 as administrative charges.
Withdrawal on or after course commencement date
No refund will be given.
^Application fees and miscellaneous fees are non-refundable.

Cancellation/ Postponement

  • NAFA reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course without prior notice.
    In the event that the class is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, NAFA will process a full refund of the course fees.

Withdrawal/ Deferment/ Transfer

  • Withdrawal or deferment requests should be made in writing with supporting relevant documents (if any) to Centre for Lifelong Education. Request for deferment is subject to approval.
  • No deferment is allowed once the course has commenced.
  • No transfer of course upon application.

Replacement of Classes

  • There is strictly no replacement lesson should the participant absent himself/herself from the course.

NAFA Centre for Lifelong Education reserves the right to reject any application under any circumstance. If we reject your application, we will refund any amount that has been paid in relation to the application that is rejected or voided without interest.
