Vacation Courses

Introduction

The NAFA Junior Art and Junior Drama Department offer short-term art courses for students (4 - 17 years old) during the June and December school holidays. We offer fun and enriching courses that range from craft-making, canvas painting, clay modelling, printmaking and photography to fashion-drawing.

Learning Outcomes

Depending on the type of workshop the students enrol in, their learning outcomes will vary.

Junior Art Course Outline Dates (Mon - Fri)
Fun Play with Texture (6 - 8 years old)
Students will explore and play with different methods of creating texture and apply them on printmaking and canvas painting. Children will also get to enjoy playing texture games and working with tactile medium such as texture paste.

Clay Play Pokémon (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create their very own collection of Pokémon in this fun-filled soft clay modelling workshop.

Huge Canvas Painting (7 - 10 years old)
Children will have fun creating artworks on huge canvas boards with acrylic paints and learn about colour theory at the same time.

Inspired By Artists (6 - 9 years old)
In this fun exploratory workshop, students will create a glow in the dark canvas painting, printed tote bag and mixed media art pieces inspired from famous artists!

Fun Star Workshop (5 - 7 years old)
Students will imagine and create artworks inspired by the story “How to catch a star”. They will imagine and create a start theme canvas painting, a star plushie and a marbling piece.

My Mini Art Museum (9 - 12 years old)
Students will create a Miniature Art Museum showcasing mini paintings & 3D artworks inspired by famous artist of all time.

Animal Fantasy Workshop (4 - 7 years old)
During this workshop, children will tap on both 2D and 3D skills. They will use different materials to create artworks based on the animal fantasy theme. Artworks range from 3D animal sculptures, animal rocket paintings, printed cotton t-shirts. Meanwhile they will learn about colour theory, print-making and 3D model crafting.

Digital Imaging 101 (Ages 13 - 16)
Students will learn the fundamentals of digital imaging and acquire skills to create original assets in Photoshop.

Learn Science Make Art (8 - 12 years old)
Students will be creating shrink plastic art, lava lamps and slime, and will be learning about the science behind these works.

Painting Animals in Soft Pastel (11 - 16 years old)
Students explore soft pastel colours (chalk pastel), learn to draw wildlife, marine life, birds, and small animals.

Picasso Inspired Workshop (6 - 9 years old)
Be inspired by the famous artist Pablo Picasso and unleash your child’s imagination in this fun workshop. They are free to explore the elements of art and put their creative ideas on canvas, box and different materials to create interesting and functional 2D and 3D art pieces.

Manga and Anime Workshop (9 - 12 years old)
Students will learn to draw and paint in various using various manga and anime techniques and styles.

Cartoon Art Workshop (7 - 9 years old)
Students will learn the basic of drawing cartoon. They will explore different themes to draw and experience 3D craft making.

Stained Glass Workshop (8 - 10 years old)
Students will learn to create contemporary and semi-abstract artworks using a faux stained-glass technique. Using simple lines and shapes, they will create decorative designs on various glass objects. At the end of the course, students will attempt different designs within this medium and experience painting on 2D and 3D objects.

Chinese Ink Painting 1 (6 - 8 years old)
In this course, children will learn the basic knowledge and techniques of Chinese Ink Painting through guided instruction and demonstrations.

In this course, children will learn the basic knowledge and techniques of Chinese Ink Painting through guided instruction and demonstrations.

Also known as xiang sheng, come join us as we learn about wordplay in a fun way.
