Riduan Zalani (Muhammad Riduan bin Zalani)

Riduan Zalani is one of Singapore’s most prominent artists who is versatile in producing and performing on various drums and percussion instruments, in both traditional and contemporary styles. His diligence, discipline and skills have made him an essential part of numerous local and international performing groups: Wicked Aura, OrkeStar Trio, Batucada Sound Machine (NZ), One Asia Classic Orchestra (JPN), among others.

Riduan is also the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Nadi Singapura, a relentless ensemble that is determined to etch their brand of traditional Malay drums and music performance in the hearts and minds of people.

In August 2018, he released his first solo album, “Gelombunk” and his first instructional DVD, “That Beat Of Faith”, both dedicated to the study and performance of the Malay drum, Rebana.

For his courage and resilience in putting Singapore on the global world music scene and his dedicated efforts in developing the local Malay music scene, Riduan was conferred the Young Artist Award in 2015, Singapore Youth Award and the ASEAN Youth Award, both in 2013.
