NAFA has been conferred the Charity Transparency Award 2023 by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY).
The Charity Transparency Award 2023, together with Charity Governance Award 2023, are bestowed upon charities that have adopted and upheld good transparency and governance standards. An initiative of the Charity Council, these awards aim to promote transparency and governance excellence in the charity sector, recognising the outstanding efforts of charities and inspiring others to adopt best practices.
NAFA had previously won the Charity Transparency Award in 2019 before a pause for review by the Charity Council in 2020 and 2021, leading to a revamp with a more stringent compliance checklist implemented from 2022.
The Award Ceremony took place on 21 November 2023, with Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, as the Guest of Honour. Ms Carol Tan, Vice President (Corporate Services), received the award on behalf of NAFA.
