On 29 March 2023, Dr Ernest Lim, Dean, Faculty of Performing Arts was invited to be a panel speaker at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023 in Hainan, China, sharing NAFA’s commitment to the theme of ‘A Better Education for the Next Generation’ amongst distinguished guests and international educators, including Dame Jenny Shipley, former Prime Minister of New Zealand; Karin Hulshof, Deputy Executive Director, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF); and Professor Li Meijin, Vice President of the China Youth Crime Prevention Research Association.
Dr Lim outlined the academy’s best practices such as industry learning opportunities, internships, and collaborations with leading arts partners such as the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, National Gallery Singapore, and the Esplanade – Theatres by the Bay; all reinforcing the institution’s mission in preparing the next generation of talents to be versatile and adaptable in the creative industries and beyond.
