Technical Officer, Information Technology Office (1-year contract)

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide helpdesk phone support via the IT hotline to staff and students
  • Provide first level support and troubleshooting of computer hardware, systems software, applications software and audio video related problems
  • Diagnose and resolve computer and audio video system problems, replacement of defective components and regular preventive maintenance
  • Manage and produce appropriate user guides and technical documents for IT and AV systems
  • Provide advice and assistance on usage of IT and AV equipment and desktop applications
  • Co-ordinate with vendors for IT and AV hardware service and repair
  • Co-ordinate and manage the deployment or configuration of IT / AV hardware and software
  • Monitor and manage the desktop, server and network environment to detect existing or potential faults/errors

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or related area
  • Preferably 2 years’ relevant experience in the helpdesk and computer desktop and software support
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills and is a team player
  • Has essential knowledge and experience in the administration of Microsoft networks / servers
  • Familiar in network administration and formal training is an added advantage
