Susan Yeung is a producer, choreographer, educator and performer. Her extensive professional career as a dance artist started in 1999, while she had previously embarked on her journey as a music and dance teacher in Hong Kong the year before.

After receiving the City Contemporary Dance Company Prize (HK) and joining Ecnad Project in Singapore as a professional performer in 2002, Yeung became an independent producer of COLLECTIVE mayhem and began touring her works across Europe and Asia in 2005. Her works have been presented in various festivals and countries such as Italy, Spain, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, China, Japan, to name a few. She also worked as the show choreographer for Xsystem Entertainment and their international events from 2007 to 2010. As an established producer and choreographer, Yeung was frequently invited as the artistic mentor for international productions and performances. A memorable highlight from her mentorship was sharing the accomplishments of the award recipient of the Young Artist Award and winners of the national choreography competition, Sprouts. She recently founded Creative X Network with her professional practice and cross-disciplinary collaborations in 2020 and 2021. She has since initiated a virtual residency project, Reimagining Residency, in partnership with international dance artists and Singapore’s community service providers.

Before joining Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Yeung was the Programme Coordinator for BA(Hons) Dance programme at LASALLE College of the Arts in 2010, and served as Lecturer and Lecturer-in-charge of dance programmes from 2011 to 2021. Her teaching experience spans from rehearsal classes and lectures to dissertation supervision across dance, theatre and arts management programmes and cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration projects with various faculties and programmes. Besides teaching, she also served as artistic director, rehearsal director and artistic mentor for more than 40 major dance productions and public events throughout her years at LASALLE. Apart from her capacity as a dance educator, she often took on the responsibility as a choreographer and artistic curator for various festivals and touring works representing the college on international and public platforms.

Yeung has served as an assessor, adjudicator, facilitator and advisor for professional companies, universities, dance festivals, regional and national competitions since 2003. While her teaching experience encompasses various music, dance and creative art programmes, Yeung has also contributed her expertise to co-devise arts education and dance curriculum programmes for schools and corporate classes with different companies and organisations throughout the years. Her professional practice extends to research projects that include a series of practice-led choreographic works developed for several local and overseas festivals from 2016 to 2019.
