Georgette Yu was a finalist for two leading fashion competitions, the 2002 China Cup in Shanghai and the 2001 Brother Cup in Beijing.
She has built her career specialising in design development from research through production. She has worked as a fashion designer with Woods & Woods and Ghim Li Global Pte Ltd, and eventually led a team of designers at BJ Apparel Pte Ltd. After a stint as an adjunct lecturer with Temasek Polytechnic and the Institute of Technical Education, she currently works as a product development consultant for children retail brands, as well as an adjunct lecturer with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
