A practice-researcher at heart, Gey Pin investigates and researches the essence of acting and discovering organic authenticity within oneself. She began her apprenticeship under the late Kuo Pao Kun at Practice Theatre Ensemble, Singapore, in 1986. During the 1990s, she was the artistic director of Theatre OX, where the ensemble delved into extensive research on Chinese cultural sources while concurrently practising Taiji and meditation as part of their actor training.  Ang has taken on lead roles and embarked on tours with the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards in Italy under Project The Bridge: developing theatre arts during her residency periods with the company in 1994 and 1998-2006. Since 2006, she has initiated Sourcing Within, a platform dedicated to research, projects, and teaching in embodied practice internationally.
