Biography

Toh Yah Li is the Principal of Light Collab - a lighting design practice specialising in the art of using light to enhance the visual environment and experience. Based in Singapore and Japan, it engages in a wide range of projects and is keenly committed to highlight the importance of using light to create qualitative perception.

With Light Collab, she also worked on various notable local and international projects such as Tower of Light- a freedom monument in Dhaka Bangladesh and Audi Minato Mirai, Yokohama Japan which have won multiple international illumination awards such as Award of Merit by IES 2014 and Good Lighting Award by Illuminating Engineering Institute of Japan 2013.

Prior to Light Collab, she worked at Lighting Planners Associates for several years. She is also an educator and taught at Temasek Polytechnic and was a recipient of Teaching Excellence Award. She continues to speak about and facilitates workshops for design and lighting.

She is a Professional member of International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and is also the coordinator for the region of Southeast Asia.
