Biography

An outstanding student musician, Ming Wei won first prize in SONGS 2002, a song-writing competition organized by the National University of Singapore. She was the recipient of the NAFA Merit Award in 2002 as well as the NAFA Commendation Award and Scholarship in 2003. She was also a Graduate Assistant from 2007 to 2012 at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she pursued her Master of Music Degrees.

Ming Wei has performed solo and accompanied for numerous recitals in the U.S., and has worked with ensembles such as concert choirs and chamber groups.

She is currently teaching at the Music Department as well as the Arts Management and Education Department of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. She also teaches Music Appreciation, a continuing education course at SIM University.
