FASHION AWARD 2018
NAFA’s talents emerged victorious at Harper’s BAZAAR Asia NewGen
Fashion Award in October. For the Singapore round, Cheong Chew Chean
Julian, 2018 Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Fashion graduate, emerged first
runner-up; and Ang Hui En, Diploma in Fashion Design student, was second
runner-up. Nguyen Thi Y Phuong from Diploma in Fashion Merchandising
and Marketing, was also placed in the Singapore finals.

Commemorating the finale of their studies at
NAFA, the exhibition visually weaved the creative
synergy of fashion and finery on the human
form. The inspiring stills captured a moment in
time, documenting the designers’ visions and
aspirations. The exhibition was held at Lee
Kong Chian Reference Library, National Library
Singapore, from 1 October to 2 November 2018.

NAFA x THYE HUA KWAN
MORAL CHARITIES
As part of the NAFA Talent Development
Programme, Nicole Choo Jen Quinn
collaborated with Thye Hua Kwan Moral
Charities (THKMC) to highlight the unique
stories of the elderly with dementia
through the expressive language of art.
Over several months, the final year Fine
Art student worked with THKMC and
visited seniors whom she partnered with.
The stories and experiences she gathered
from the seniors culminated in a solo
showcase. Her art installation titled Piece
NAFA x SINGAPORE TOURISM BOARD of Mind was presented at The Plaza,
National Library Singapore in April 2019.
