FUNDRAISING GOLF

TOURNAMENT 2018

NAFA’s Fundraising Golf Tournament, held on
3 October, was a resounding success! Over
120 enthusiastic golfers, together with our
guest of honour Wong Kan Seng, teed off at
Singapore Island Country Club’s New Course.

At the celebration dinner, guests enjoyed
a delightful performance by Dr Lucy Ooi,
Chairman of the Golf Tournament Organising
Committee, and students from the NAFA
School of Music.
This annual tournament provides an important
source of funding to support our students.
Due to the generosity of our sponsors
and donors, we exceeded our fundraising
target of S$250,000 and raised more
than S$340,000. In line with our theme of
‘Gratitude,’ around S$70,000 to S$100,000
of this amount will go to providing fully-
subsidised arts courses for those with special
needs and disabilities. The balance of the
funds will go towards study awards and
bursaries for NAFA students.
We want to convey our sincere appreciation
to all the donors and sponsors for their
generosity and active support!

NAFA CONVOCATION 2018

On 1 and 2 September, NAFA proudly
celebrated its largest graduating
class ever in history. A total of 845
graduating students from 22 diploma
and eight degree courses received
their scrolls at NAFA’s annual
Convocation Ceremony.

Associate Professor Muhammad
Faishal Ibrahim, Senior Parliamentary
Secretary for the Ministry of Education
and Ministry of Social and Family
Development, was the guest of
honour during the first session of the
Convocation event on 1 September.

During the ceremonies, 26 students
received the Best Graduate awards.
These are bestowed on students
in recognition of their all-round
achievements, which include excellent
academic results, strong leadership
