HOMAGE TO DESIGN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
BY NAFA x SCANTEAK
Homage to Design Entrepreneurship was a collaborative showcase by
NAFA and Scanteak held between 4 and 10 March 2019 at Suntec City.
This follows the successful partnership with Scanteak for the Diploma in
Design (Furniture and Spatial) Year 3 final year project in 2018. The top
three students’ works were mass produced as part of the Nest collection,
launched by Senior Minister of State (Ministry of Communications and
Information, and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth), Sim Ann.
This designer collection of teak furniture aims to address the challenge
of shrinking home spaces by providing multifunctional solutions to
modern living.
Works by the NAFA 3D Design alumni were also showcased — these were
by designers who have either established their own design studios or made
significant contributions through their craft. FASHION UPCYCLING 2019
During this event, which is part of the Singapore Design Week, the public
had the opportunity to participate in workshops led by NAFA students, This exciting collaboration with Takashimaya
creating products from various materials ranging from leather to resin. Department Store focused on upcycling fashion.

ALL STARS CALENDAR 2019 —
THE WORLD IS YOUR PLAYGROUND
In 2018, Mediacorp held photoshoots for their stylish All Stars
Calendar 2019. Featured artistes wore collections from the
NAFA 2018 Diploma in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing
graduates. Appearing in the June page was the La Marque’s
collection by Lovely Ong Li Ping, Natasha Tansir and Nguyen
Thi Y Phuong; and the Zeroth collection by Deanna Ervina
Binte Zaini, Moo Ruo Xuan and Theresia Cynthia Yusuf was
featured in November. This exciting project also involved NAFA
alumni Ivan Goh Eu Jin (Diploma in Fashion Design, 2009) and
Annie Chua Yi Jun (Diploma in Fashion Design, 1995) who are
full-time fashion stylists and costume designers at Mediacorp.
