Teaching Workshop 2018:
           Industry-Based Learning



           On 26 February 2018, NAFA’s 10 Teaching Workshop
                                     th
           took place with three invited speakers: Christy Chung
           (Ngee Ann Polytechnic), Asmah Alias (National Heritage
           Board) and Sheriden Newman (Soul Signature).
           It covered a spectrum of possibilities on industry-based
           learning; frameworks to build collaborative relationships
           with industry partners; learning experiences from such
           collaboration; and challenges in the process and industry
           expectations. Students from 3D Design; Dance; Design
           and Media; and Theatre presented insights from their
           experience in industry attachments. Breakout sessions
           then enabled lecturers and students to explore ways to
           better arrive at enhanced learning outcomes, for future
           industry-based placements.


           eFiesta 2017


           The second occurrence of NAFA’s
           eFiesta took place at the Kwan Im
           Thong Hood Cho Temple Library from

           awareness of Technology, Pedagogy
           and Content Knowledge (TPACK)
           in the arts, and to use new media
           to inspire new ideas in learning.
           Chaired by Senior Lecturer and
           Programme Leader of Learning
           Enhancement, Grace Leong,
           the week-long event included
           National Institute of Education’s
           Associate Professor Gwendoline
           Quek delivering a keynote address
           on Information and Communications
           Technology (ICT), in modernising
           art teaching and education. Other
           invited external speakers included
           Dr Daniela Plewe (National University
           of Singapore), Mark Papayoanou
           (Republic Polytechnic) and Associate
           Professor Joyce Koh Hwee Ling
