NAFA’s 80 anniversary celebrations kicked off on 2 February
th
2018, with Minister for Education, Ong Ye Kung, unveiling a
specially commissioned sculpture, entitled Seed.
The sculpture was created by local artist Han Sai Por and
sits alongside benches on Bencoolen street designed by
NAFA’s 3D Design students and alumni. It symbolises
NAFA’s growth over the 80 years; strong heritage and deep
roots; and continued pursuit of progress and support for the
creative industry in Singapore.
That same day, NAFA officially launched its newest facility,
NAFA Campus 1 Tower Block, situated above Bencoolen
MRT Station. The Tower Block adds 20 percent to the
Academy’s floor plan, providing NAFA students with state-of-
the-art classrooms, studios and student interaction spaces.
