NAFA Alumni Showcase
Their Talent at Art Stage
Singapore 2015

Three young artists from the NAFA Fine Art programme
exhibited their recent works at Art Stage Singapore, held at
Marina Bay Sands from 22 to 25 January 2015. Graduates
Yeo Jian Long with a Diploma in Fine Art (Distinction - Western
Painting, 2013) and Li Yu with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art
(First Class, 2013) both showcased mixed media paintings.
Dzaki Safaruan (Diploma in Fine Art - Printmaking, 2011),
who is currently reading a degree at NAFA, presented a
series of prints.

With support from the National Arts Council, the more
established alumni artists showcased their work under
the ‘Artists Alliance Singapore’ umbrella. Boo Sze Yang
(Diploma in Fine Art - 1991), Chiew Sien Kuan
(Diploma in Fine Art - Western Painting, 1989),
Lim Soo Ngee (Diploma in Fine Art - Sculpture, 1989),
April Ng (Diploma in Fine Art - Western Painting, 1989)
and Terence Tan (Diploma in Fine Art - 1990) presented
recent works of oil, mixed media, sculpture, print and
Chinese ink. The group sold more than 20 art pieces to
collectors at the event. All artists are current full-time or
adjunct lecturers at NAFA.

                                                                 Open House

                                                                 NAFA welcomed aspiring artists to the campus during its
                                                                 two-day Open House on 16 and 17 January 2015.
                                                                 Guided by our friendly student ambassadors, they embarked
                                                                 on a campus tour to discover the colourful vibes hidden behind
                                                                 white-washed walls. From intimate consultation sessions with
                                                                 esteemed NAFA lecturers and conversations with outstanding
                                                                 NAFA alumni, to art exhibitions, hands-on demonstrations and
                                                                 live performances, the activities offered potential students a
                                                                 glimpse into the varied art forms taught and practised at NAFA.
                                                                 For the first time, Open House visitors interacted with a ‘Live’
                                                                 Board Game to create buzz online, with a live stream of feeds
                                                                 from various social media platforms flashing on campus plasma
                                                                 screens. The event attracted 4,895 visitors, a 23% increase as
                                                                 compared to 3,988 in 2014.
