PARTNERSHIP WITH VERY SPECIAL
ARTS SINGAPORE
14 June 2018 marked a momentous occasion for the Centre for
Lifelong Education (CLE) and Very Special Arts Singapore (VSA
Singapore). They inked a milestone partnership agreement which
saw the launch of a top-up certificate in visual arts, conferred by
CLE. This certificate allows artists-in-training with disabilities to get
a step closer to becoming career artists. Aspiring artists who have
undergone at least four years of visual arts training at VSA Singapore
and completed the Voice of Individual’s Creative ExpressionS
(VOICES) programme can apply for the top-up certificate. Signed by
Maureen Goh, VSA Singapore’s Executive Director, and Khor Kok
Wah, NAFA’s Vice President of Industry and Projects, this partnership
was sealed in the presence of guest of honour Linda de Mello,
Director of National Arts Council’s Sector Development Group,
Visual Arts. The first programme commenced with seven students in
October 2018 on VSA Singapore’s premises.
