Yeo Yeok Chuan
Diploma in Graphic Design, 1993
Founder of Achates 360, Yeok Chuan, collaborated with illustrator Koh Hong Teng
to publish a book titled Building Memories. Documenting the histories as well as
personal and collective memories of four historic public buildings, the interactive book
won Book of the Year 2017 and Best Illustrated Non-Fiction Title in the Singapore Book
Awards 2017. It was also a winner in the HOW International Design Awards 2017 and
the American Graphic Design Awards 2016. The book also had great success in the
driven x design Awards achieving a Gold in the 2016 GOV Design Awards; the 2016
Hong Kong Design Awards; and the 2016 New York Design Awards as well as a Silver
in the 2016 London Design Awards.
Alexander Ian Oon
Bachelor of Music (Hons), 2016
At the NAFA Convocation 2016, Alexander was awarded the Embassy of Peru Award,
which is presented to the most outstanding degree graduate in the Academy. This talented
horn player was accepted into the Pacific Music Festival (PMF) 2016 Orchestra Academy.
The PMF is an international educational music festival held annually in Sapporo, Japan.
Currently pursuing his Masters at the Royal College of Music, London, Alexander was also
selected to be part of the BBC Symphony Orchestra Pathway Scheme, and was involved
in rehearsals with the Orchestra for the academic year of 2016/17.
Li Yang
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music, 2009
In 2016, Chinese soprano Li Yang played the character of Liu in
Turandot, a production by the Singapore Lyric Opera. Her portrayal
of Liu earned rave reviews in The Straits Times, praising Li for her
captivating performance as well as “perfect diction, perfect pitching,
perfect vocal control and a voice to die for.”
Syaiful Ariffin
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Theatre Arts, 2016
Syaiful beat 18 other finalists to be crowned champion, alongside fellow winner Yaya Hamid,
of Mediacorp’s Anugerah Skrin competition, in 2016. He is currently pursuing a
Master of Fine Arts in Voice Studies at Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art.
