STAR STUDENTS
William Goh Jian Hong
Diploma in Art Teaching
William has held various leadership positions in both NAFA and external
organisations. He was the Student Representative for the Art Teaching
course, from 2014 to 2016. He currently serves as the Vice Secretary
General of the Singapore Watercolour Society and Vice Secretary of Modern
Art Society Singapore. William has participated in numerous exhibitions and
symposiums including Modern Art Society Singapore’s Year Show 2016 at ION
Art Gallery; Fleuve De Vie: River of Life at National University Singapore Society
Kent Ridge Guild House Gallery; SWS 47th Annual Exhibition 2016: Metamorphosis
at Ngee Ann Cultural Centre; and ASEAN IDENTITY with Chulalongkorn University and
Birmingham City University. The works of this multidisciplinary artist have been collected by
organisations such as The Connoisseur Concerto. He has created works commissioned by
JTC Corporation and the Ministry of Education.
Liza Markus
Diploma in Fine Art
A recipient of the NAFA ASEAN Grant in 2016 and 2015, Liza showcases
her artistry through sculptures, installations, paintings, printmaking and more.
In 2017, she was part of a team, which represented Singapore in Italy’s annual
International Snow Festival, where sculptors from around the world compete
to create exquisite works from pressed snow. She has also participated in
regional and local showcases including For Now, It’s 23:60 in Indonesia;
Emotional Landscapes at SingaPlural 2016; and Wood Sculpture Symposium
2016 at the iconic Fort Canning Park. Liza also works with youths with special
needs, and was involved in projects such as Rainbow Chairity, in 2016.
Angela Novitasari Tan
Diploma in Design (Object and Jewellery)
Since its inception in 2001, winning the Crowbar Awards has been a goal for local students
hoping to make a mark in the design community. Angela Novitasari’s submission collected a
Silver Award. In September 2016, Angela also reached the finals of the 18th National Design
Dashi Award, which recognises the most outstanding works in different areas of design. There
were more than 10,000 competition entries from countries including China, Taiwan and Singapore.
Additionally, Angela was one of four students who won the RISIS X NAFA Live-Client project.
