                                                                       Under the direction of esteemed English conductor Nicholas Cleobury,
                                                                       Head of Opera at Queensland Conservatorium (Brisbane), the NAFA
                                                                       Orchestra and Chorus presented its annual gala concert at the Victoria
                                                                       Concert Hall. Identified as “…a moving evening of Poulenc” by The
                                                                       Straits Times, the all-French programme showed Head of Keyboard
                                                                       Studies Lena Ching’s and Senior Lecturer Nicholas Ong’s beautiful
                                                                       work in Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra in
                                                                       D minor. The audience was awed by the Orchestra and Chorus’
                                                                       delivery of Poulenc’s masterful synthesis of pensiveness and
                                                                       exuberance in his large-scale work Gloria, the highlight of the evening,
                                                                       which also featured alumna Isyana Sarasvati, now a media sensation.

 Junior Art Exhibition 2015

  The annual exhibition showcased numerous unique works by young talented artists,
  exploring the theme of The Campaign City to rejoice and celebrate a better future in
  Singapore’s Jubilee Year. Teachers from the Junior Art Department also presented
  their pieces along the theme of Our Childhood Game.

                       SG50 complimentary courses for seniors

                                               NAFA’s Continuing Education Office* partnered with active ageing agency, Council for
                                               Third Age to run complimentary courses for seniors aged 50 and above as part of an
                                               initiative by the Ministry of Health to celebrate the nation’s Jubilee Year. NAFA’s courses,
                                               which ranged from painting to mixed media to ceramics, saw overwhelming responses
                                               with more than 500 seniors participating in the various complimentary classes
                                               throughout the year.
                                               *With effect from 1 July 2016, the Continuing Education Office
                                               has been renamed Centre for Lifelong Education.
