Singapore and hosted by NAFA from 16 to18 October 2015,
Asia-Pacific Dance Bridge 2015: Connectivity through Dance was
attended by more than 300 delegates from Singapore and 140
delegates from 12 countries including Australia, Bangladesh, India,
Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, South
Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the USA. The conference had several
programmes which were presented in partnership with NAFA as well as
other Singapore arts organisations including Esplanade – Theatres on
the Bay, LASALLE College of the Arts (LASALLE), the National Library
Board, and the School of the Arts. The successful event signified that
Singapore’s very own dance community had become increasingly
closely-knitted and also helped to forge alliances between dancers,
educators, administrators and other practitioners of the
                       arts throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

NAFA and LASALLE also shared the stage for the first time in
celebration of the Esplanade’s 10th da:ns festival which coincided
with the Asia-Pacific Dance Bridge 2015: Connectivity through
Dance conference. Students from both institutions took part in Next
Generation, an annual platform at the da:ns festival which profiles
                       young dance talents in Singapore.

2015 National Piano & Violin Competition

The gifted pianists from the School of Young Talents’ Junior Music
Department achieved a rare feat of winning eight awards at the biennial
National Piano & Violin Competition, maintaining its unbeaten record
at one of Singapore’s most significant talent discovery platforms for
young classical musicians. The school swept all prizes in the Piano
Intermediate category for a record sixth time and claimed the top prize
in the Piano Junior category for the seventh time. Notable wins include
the third prize in the Piano Junior category and second prize in the
Piano Senior category, as well as the second and third places in the
                       Violin Junior category.
