Graduate Fashion Week 2016


                                                                   NAFA was invited to participate in the International Catwalk
                                                                 category of the prestigious Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) in
                                                                     London, to showcase the collection of a NAFA graduate.
                                                                 Joycelyn Kam Ming-Hui, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Fashion and
                                                                  Marketing, was selected to represent NAFA. 20 international
                                                                 schools participated in this event, which took place in London
                                                                  from 5 to 8 June 2016 at Truman Brewery. This annual event
                                                                         allows participating universities to showcase works
                                                                                             from their best students.




















          Overseas Educational Trip
          to Bangkok


          Senior Design & Media Lecturers Dr Lim Poh Teck and Tan Ngeup Khun
          led a group of 19 Design & Media and 13 Fine Art students on an educational
          trip to Bangkok. Professor Suppakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Fine and Applied
          Art at Chulalongkorn University, supported by his senior teaching staff Dr Patcha
          and Trid, conducted a workshop for the students entitled ASEAN Identity.
          The workshop involved design students from Birmingham Institute of Art and
          Design, and explored our common ASEAN identity, tradition and culture. As part of the
          workshop, the students visited Ayutthaya, an old city near Bangkok, as well as museums,
          temples and other historical and cultural sites. From 23 March to 1 April 2016, the 32
          students exhibited work (inspired by the trip) at ON AIR Gallery.









                                                                                        ImaginAsia 2016


                                                           After the educational trip to Bangkok, Senior Design & Media Lecturer
                                                      Dr Lim Poh Teck and three students were invited, by Professor Suppakorn, to
                                                      the ImaginAsia workshop in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The theme for this year was
                                                        Asian Heritage and People Mobility. The objectives were to strengthen the
                                                        collaboration and connection among Asian institutions in digital media and
                                                       the arts; encourage students and faculty members from Asian institutions to
                                                        work together on the same topic; and enhance mutual interests and share,
                                                        discuss and exchange knowledge of the current and contemporary issues
                                                                                               among Asian Nations.
