Eligibility for Convocation

Diploma, Specialist Diploma and Degree students who have successfully completed all requirements of their respective course of study will receive an email and SMS invitation to NAFA Convocation 2022.

Students who are unsure of their graduation status and eligibility to attend the ceremony, please contact the Office of Student Affairs at [email protected] or call (65) 6512 6132 during office hours from 9am to 5pm, Mondays to Fridays (excluding Public Holidays).

Collection of Certificates and Transcripts

The collection period for the graduation documents was from 29 August – 9 September 2022.

Graduates who missed the collection period may still collect their graduation documents from the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) by 28 October 2022. OSA is located at the Student Services Office (NAFA Campus 1, Wing A, Level 2) and we are open from 9am - 5pm, Mondays - Fridays (excluding public holidays).

Please also note the following:

  • We are also open on 1 October 2022 (Saturday) from 9.00am – 7.30pm
  • Please refer to the table below for the modes of collection

Self-collection
  • Bring along your NAFA Student Card for identification.
  • We will retain your student card as you have already completed your course at NAFA.
Collection by proxy
  • You may authorise someone else to collect your certificate on your behalf if you are unable to do so personally.
  • Please complete and sign the Authorisation Letter and ask your representative to print and bring along the letter and his/her identification card or passport for proof of identity.
  • We wish to stress that NAFA will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to your certificate collected by your proxy.
Mailing of Certificate (only for international students who are currently overseas)
  • If you are currently overseas and want your certificate to be mailed to you, please complete the Certificate Mailing Form.
  • Please note that the certificate will be sent via normal postal mail that does not have a tracking number.
  • We wish to stress that NAFA will not be held responsible for any delay, loss or damage to your certificate.

Registration of Attendance and Rental of Academic Gown

All graduands who are attending the Convocation ceremony must register their attendance as well as rent the academic gown from the appointed academic gown management services provider, Serangoon Broadway.

Graduands without the academic gown will not be allowed to attend the ceremony. Male graduands who are currently serving National Service may choose to wear their army uniform (without the military cap) to the ceremony instead of the academic gown. (Note: Male graduands who choose to wear their army uniform must still register their attendance online)

Please register your attendance and order your academic gown online at the Serangoon Broadway website at http://www.serangoonbroadway.com/ from 17 August – 7 September 2022.

(NOTE: Registration for attendance and ordering of academic gown had closed. We regret that we are unable to accept any late registration)

The rental fee and refundable security deposit are as follows:

The rental fee and refundable security deposit are to be made to Serangoon Broadway during the academic gown collection. The preferred mode of payment is cash and NETS.

The Office of Student Care had earlier received the pre-order of the academic gown for graduands of the following degree courses:

  • Bachelor of Music (Hons)
  • Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Fashion
  • Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Fashion and Marketing

However, the above graduands must still log-in to the Serangoon Broadway website to confirm your attendance and book an appointment to collect and make payment for your academic gown.

  • Click on ‘Login’ at the top right-hand corner of the page.
  • The ceremony code is as follows:

  • Login after which the subsequent steps are self-explanatory.

Important Note:

We regret that you will not be allowed to attend the ceremony if you did not register online to rent the academic gown and confirm your attendance by 7 September 2022.

Guest Invitation

Each graduand will be issued with TWO guest tickets during the academic gown collection at Serangoon Broadway.

We regret that children below the age of 7 will NOT BE ALLOWED to attend the ceremony.

Please be advised that your guests are to be formally dressed for the ceremony. Guests will be ushered for seating in the Lee Foundation Theatre at the following times (admission by tickets only):

Collection of Academic Gown

Please note that all graduands are required to make an appointment online for the academic gown collection no later than 7 September 2022.

Graduands may choose to make an appointment for the academic gown collection immediately after the submission of the academic gown order form OR at any other convenient time by logging into the Serangoon Broadway portal at https://www.serangoonbroadway.com/ with the ceremony code SBNAFA2809.

Please note the following period for the collection of academic dress:

Please be reminded that you must collect your Graduate Admission Card and Guest Admission Tickets when you collect your academic gown from Serangoon Broadway. It is important to bring along the Graduate Admission Card for the ceremony.

 

Attire Guidelines for Graduands

As this is a formal occasion, you must be appropriately dressed for your graduation ceremony. Our staff will check your attire before you are allowed to register for the ceremony. If your attire is unacceptable, you will NOT BE ALLOWED to go on stage.

The following are the recommended Dress Code and Hair appearance:

Female Graduands

Attire

  • Dress / Blouse, preferably long sleeves, with high collar
  • Skirt length should be around knees or longer
  • Dress pants are permitted
  • Court shoes or pumps

Note: Women generally wear a lightweight dress / blouse and skirt, that is shorter than the graduation attire

Hair

  • Neat hairdo / natural tone

  • Dark coloured shoes with socks

Note : Men generally choose to wear dark trousers and a dress shirt and tie under their graduation attire

  • Short neat hairdo / natural tone

  • Tying of hair is not acceptable

The following are examples of UNACCEPTABLE ATTIRE:

General

Casual pants/Jeans, T-shirts, Polo shirts, Shorts, Culottes, Bermudas, Sports shoes, Slippers, Open toe sandals.

Female - Mini-skirts/Skirts with exceptionally high slits. Any dress considered provocative or revealing e.g. low cut, bare midriff, transparent top, blouse unbuttoned.
