Étienne Turpin, Dr Koh also Teacher, Junior Music
composed a staged work, Away
We Go, for a reciter and three An alumna of the Bachelor of Music
musicians. Commissioned by with Honours programme, Tien Khai
the Nanyang Technological is a frequent recipient of numerous
University Centre for Contemporary awards and scholarships. Most
Art Singapore, this work was recently, she won the first prize
created for Tomás Saraceno’s in the Artists category as well
exhibition: Arachnid Orchestra. as the Grand Prix at the Medan
Jam Sessions. Music students International Piano Competition
Nadine Ng and Cheryl Ho were 2015. She has performed at
professionally engaged to perform prestigious occasions in

In another commissioned piece
by The Arts Fission Company
for National Gallery Singapore’s
Opening Festival, Dr Koh created
a musical soundscape for the
site-specific dance spectacle, In
the Name of Red. An integration
into the choreography was a vocal
ensemble of 10 singers comprising
NAFA’s Music students and
alumni, who were professionally
engaged by the dance
company for this production.

Sun Tat was invited by the
Central Conservatory of Music to
participate in the Conservatory’s
75th Anniversary Celebration
concert, held at the National Centre
for the Performing Arts in Beijing
on 1 November 2015. He was also
a distinguished Erhu soloist at
Spotlight Singapore Mexico City
2015’s PASAR SINGAPURA!.
This was a cultural showcase of
the most talented Mexican and
Singaporean artists and musicians,
who came together to perform
at this significant cultural and
business exchange affair held
from 21 to 29 March 2015.
