3D Visual Art Workshop for NorthLight School –
Flower Form Sculpting Workshop
The Junior Art Department was invited again by NorthLight School to conduct a 3D Visual Art Workshop for
143 Secondary Two students, deepening their appreciation of the arts through meaningful and experiential learning.
Art Camp for Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) –
The Imagination Art Camp
A collaborative effort with CDAC which started in 2009, 52 children and teens participated in an art camp during
school holidays in June 2015. Participants, who came from lower-income families, were provided opportunities to
enrich themselves by picking up useful skills in art.
Beijing Dance Academy Chinese Dance Graded Examinations
Of the 134 Junior Dance students who sat for the graded exams conducted by the renowned Beijing Dance Academy,
almost 90% of the students obtained either distinction or merit.
Jubilee Walk Tours
Third year students from NAFA’s Diploma in Arts Management course had the opportunity to collaborate with the
National Heritage Board (NHB) to design and carry out guided tours of the Jubilee Walk in April 2016 for the
underprivileged, as part of NHB’s latest initiative in cultural philanthropy, HeritageCares. Launched in November
2015 by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the Jubilee Walk is an eight-kilometre trail covering more than 20 historic
and iconic locations within the Civic District and Marina Bay areas, leading visitors through the nation’s heritage
and future aspirations. The planning and execution of the guided trips allowed the students to apply skills learnt
in the classroom to serve the community and less privileged.
President’s Young Performers Concert 2015
Violin student, Kimberly Lo, was selected through competitive auditions to perform at the annual President’s Young
Performers Concert at the Victoria Concert Hall, which showcases Singapore’s brightest young musicians.
Trinity College London – Drama and Speech Examinations
83 Junior Drama students achieved distinction in the Choral Speaking Grade Two group exam offered by
Trinity College London. Another 13 students excelled in Grade Three solo exams involving Individual Acting
Skills and Performing Text, attaining either distinction or merit.
