to better cater to the needs of As a follow-up to the reorganisation in 2015,
we undertook an Organisational Climate Survey
our students and graduates. in early 2016 to assess the impact of structural
changes that were implemented. The overall
‘sustainable engagement score’ was found to
be at a high 84%. The Academy has clearly
taken on a new life with renewed vigour and
improved operating efficiency. We continue to stay
committed to the goals of the institution, and our
efforts are strongly aligned with the Academy’s
vision, mission and values.
We have in recent years seen very healthy student
intakes. Last year, we had a 9.6% increase in
student applications to NAFA, with more than
800 students enrolled in our diploma programmes.
The number of students pursuing a tertiary arts
education is increasing. This is unsurprising,
given that Singapore is moving towards
a creative economy which requires diverse
talents and out-of-the-box thinkers. A NAFA
education remains sought after and relevant.
From the past year’s graduate employment survey,
we found that 87% of our graduates gained
employment within three months of graduation.
We strive to provide our students with a solid
foundation and prepare them for challenges in
the creative industries.
In addition to the full-time tertiary programmes,
we have a School of Young Talents that offers
junior art, music, dance and drama courses for
students aged from four to 18. This School has an
enrolment of 4,500 and many more are interested
to join us. We also cater to even younger,
preschool-going children at both locations of
the NAFA Arts Kindergarten, providing a holistic
early childhood education with an arts-integrated
teaching curriculum at East Coast Road
and Derbyshire Road.
Further to this, we run a wide range of part-time
certificate and enrichment courses for adult
learners, subscribed by 5,000 students each
year. These are provided by the NAFA Centre for
Lifelong Education (CLE), previously known as the
Continuing Education Office.
