Orient Elements is an inspiration from the traditional symbolic chinese geometric shapes. In order to keep the heritage and history of Waterloo street the geometric forms were created to connect together to form a shelter for all visitors.
Located at Cathay Green, Space Reflection has a unique main entrance is a mirror maze, it is intended to intrigue users to enter which will lead to an open space and a platform for possible performances.
An amphitheatre is created from the experimental exploration of organic shapes.
Design Programming Plan
A maze experience occurs in the Red zone as users go through the spaces. From narrow pathways to open spaces.
Is a Fog play Area where users are able to intertwine with the protruding poles. The zone is a transition space to the contemplation area.
Children and parents alike can enjoy the Yellow zone as they climb or rest on the net, pass through the structure or have a little swing.
A more solemn ground is dedicated for visitors to honour the past heroes while also being able to slow down and become immersed in nature
Red frames are found at the entrance to entice passersby and to act as a sneak peak of what is to come.
