BIOGRAPHY
(Artist Statement)
Farisah is largely inspired by the human psyche – the elements of the human mind both in the conscious and unconscious state. She wants to deliver the idea of self-healing and inner tranquility through audience interaction and participation in the artwork. Engaging one’s body with the tools, medium, and space while witnessing the transformation in the material induces a relaxed state in the body. Feel the Presence invites a sensorial experience where the viewer may carve, peel, break and bend the wax in any free-flow movement of their choice. The different therapeutic gestures working on the different kinds of wax provided triggers new senses that suggest presence.
