(Artist Statement)
Christen’s practice attempts to examine and convey the fragility of skin through the experiences and memories of individuals that live with skin conditions. Skin Deep speaks of the struggles of living with eczema and how this has shaped her as a person, that healing is not constant but often temporal. Christen sees the process of art-making as a place to articulate her inner voice.
