Inspired by the passing of my step-sister, this collection is a translation the emotional turmoil one goes through watching someone fading away painfully.
Diagnosed with thyroid cancer, she was suicidal & was in despair. Witnessing her being in excruciating pain made me feel extremely helpless. Thus, I’m hoping to convey & express agonizing solemnness into this AW20/21 collection.
This AW20/21 collection is for those who uses garments as an extension for who they are. Something a little more masculine yet, not losing the touch of sensitivity & softness in them - a tough exterior with a soft interior.
Cool tone colours to express withering emotions whereas it conflicts with the warmer brick red.
BIOGRAPHY
Being independent since young has made me believed in working hard to getting what/where I want to be. Driven and enthusiastic, I constantly push myself out of my comfort zone and boundaries, to produce work that I take pride in. I believe in having the right balance between showcasing your work and personality, to get people excited and yourself imprinted in their head.
Living by the quote, "you are your own competition", I always find my eyes set on the net for the next inspiration to trigger my creativity and myself adventuring around places to indulge in the little fun and excitement that life brings. Growing and learning as a person and designer, to work and produce better than before or ever.
Be it 10 or 20 years down the road, I still see myself as a fashion designer of my own label. To create for versatility, liberal society/attitude and freedom.
