BIOGRAPHY
(Artist Statement)
Li Ya’s practice currently is focused on expressing isolation and alienation. By experimenting with the human environments and ants as her subject matter, she invites viewers to reflect on the unrepresentable future. Her final year project explores the effects of capitalism and consumerism on humans, emphasising how we are kept in a cycle of work, production and consumption with no escape. Presenting a mixed media work, she would like the viewer to reflect on their position in our society.

FINAL YEAR PROJECT
Humant cycle critiques on consumerism in our capitalist society and how it's system kept us in a repeated cycle of work, production and consumption. Using common settings and ants in an alienated way suggest a un-representable future inducing fear.
