(Art Educator Profile)

Nursyazana’s art practice is focused on recalling, exploring and rekindling past memories. By drawing inspiration from various collective experiences in her childhood and everyday life, she seeks to recall these fleeting memories and showcase them through various means. Collecting symbolic objects, interviewing and documenting are some of the approaches in her attempt to preserve past experiences to aid her art-making. This graduation project focusses on Nursyazana’s own memory recollection of her late father. Touching on the concept of ‘sensory memory’, she assembles different elements into an entire experience; in hopes of leaving traces of his personality embedded into her work.
