Mrs Tan-Soh Wai Lan
President
The Grad Expectations 2026 marks an important milestone in your journey at NAFA. It brings together work shaped by years of learning, exploration and growth, and reflects the dedication and perseverance you have shown throughout your time here.
This year’s showcase is especially significant, bringing together graduates across the Faculty of Art and Design. It includes the inaugural cohorts of the Master of Fine Arts Fine Art and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Biophilic Design, alongside graduates from the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Fine Art and Design Practice programmes, as well as the diploma programmes in Fine Art, 3D Design, Design & Media, and Fashion Studies. Together, they reflect the range of practices and perspectives that define this graduating class.
We are living in a time of rapid technological change and global uncertainty. In this context, the arts play an important role in helping people see differently, ask questions, and stay connected to one another. Your work reflects a generation that is navigating these changes with curiosity and intention, offering new perspectives and creating space for dialogue.
As you present your work for the final time as NAFA students, you can take pride in knowing that the entire NAFA community is proud of you. Your journey has been shaped not only by your own efforts, but also by the support of your peers and mentors, and it is a privilege for us to have been part of that journey with you.
The Grad Expectations is a milestone, but it is also a beginning. We know you are ready to take your next steps with confidence and purpose.
On behalf of NAFA, I extend my warmest congratulations to the Class of 2026. We look forward to the paths you will take, the ideas you will shape, and the contributions you will make in the years ahead.
