Congratulations to the Class of 2025
On behalf of the School of Fine Art

Your journey has been defined by courage, creativity, and compassion. Through impactful collaborations — with Assisi Hospice, Singapore Tyler Print Institute, artist Bani Haykel, Studio Plesungan, and the Living Archive of Contemporary Asian Art (LACAA), alongside artists Ahmad Abu Bakar, Ming Wong, Suzann Victor, Tan Wyn Lynn, and Yeo Chee Kiong — you have demonstrated that art is more than creation; it is a powerful means of connection: between individuals, communities, and the wider world.

As Singapore marks SG60, we celebrate Dr. Susie Lingham on her 60th birthday. An independent, interdisciplinary writer-artist, curator, educator, and alumna of NAFA, Dr. Lingham has made significant contributions across the arts. She co-founded 5th Passage (1991–1996), served as Assistant Professor at NIE/NTU (2009–2013), led the Singapore Art Museum as its Director (2013–2016), and was honoured with NAFA’s Distinguished Alumni Medal in 2014. Her enduring legacy is a testament to the power of art to provoke thought, offer solace, foster learning, and inspire transformation.

We also take this moment to celebrate artist Boo Sze Yang, who reaches a milestone birthday this year — a testament to the lasting impact and presence of artists across generations.

Carry their spirit forward. Trust the journey, stay true to your intentions, and be courageous in your vision. Let your practice — rooted in humility and purpose — keep shaping the future and inspiring change, in ways only art can.
