Biography

Yin's artistic practice ranges from paintings to video and photographic works which are guided by visual representations expressed through feelings and stories. Most of her artworks are build around the idea of dissonance and my faith, Islam, in relation to femininity subjects such as modesty where she plays around with the juxtaposition of being both rebellious and modest. Recently, she dove deeper into researching the subject of clothing, mainly the hijab as a main focus of modesty and her personal relationship with it. Yin mostly use images as visuals to communicate her ideas and feelings across. With this, she started using movements and silhouettes as a representation of the feelings she felt by experimenting with 2D, 3D and 4D forms.
