A recipient of the National Arts Council (NAC) Arts Scholarship, Terrence Wong Fei Yang graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Honours under a two-year degree programme offered by Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in partnership with the Royal College of Music, London. He studied composition under the tutelage of Zechariah Goh Toh Chai and Kenneth Hesketh, as well as conducting with Lim Yau, Leonard Tan and Volker Hartung.
Wong has been commissioned to compose music for numerous events such as the National Piano and Violin Competition 2013, as well as notable ensembles such as The Philharmonic Winds and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He currently works as an assistant conductor with two secondary school bands and is also the Composer-in-Residence at the Singapore Wind Symphony.
He believes that music composition is a lifelong yet fulfilling process of research, appreciation, creative thinking and performance.
