After developing mobile games for three years, Julian helped Daylight Studios develop a new IP, Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! which was released on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux in 2015. Gaining worldwide recognition, he continued to expand the original IP of Holy Potatoes! and worked with the company to make a sequel titled Holy Potatoes! We're In Space?! and a spin-off game Holy Potatoes! Weapons of Mass Production.
Besides his full-time job in Daylight Studios, Julian also works as a freelance illustrator for international clients such as DBS, Citibank, Uber, Innogames, IO Interactive, Disney, Bethesda, DeNA, SquareEnix, Blizzard and more.
A former MOE and NAFA scholar, Julian consistently grabbed awards during his studies at NAFA, clinching Silver Crowbars under various Illustration categories. He was also a nominee for the Singapore President’s Design Award during his final year at NAFA.
In 2014, the mobile title Swords of Fate placed 2nd at the Straits Times Best Singapore-made Game Awards and received the 1st prize at the SG Mark Singapore Good Design Awards. Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! topped the best-selling chart on Steam in 2015 and became an instant favourite among simulation game fans.
