NAFA's in-house Scholarships,
Merit Awards and Bursaries

Application for NAFA’s Scholarships, Merit Awards & Bursaries for Diploma & Degree Studies in AY2018/19 has closed.

Students with outstanding academic results and an excellent track record of achievements in related arts and creative industries may apply for NAFA’s in-house Scholarships and Merit Awards. Bursaries are also available for students who require financial assistance (based on household income) to defray part of their tuition fees.

Successful recipients of the Scholarships, Merit Awards and Bursaries will be offered the following quantum for one academic year, unless otherwise indicated in the terms and conditions of award:

* Singaporeans who are pursuing full-time diploma courses or the  Bachelor of Music (Hons) course, and are eligible for MOE Tuition Grant (TG) may also apply for the MOE Bursary and CDC/CCC Bursary Scheme. Please click here for more details.


Applicants are subject to the following requirements which may be specified by NAFA and various donors on the selection of the various Scholarship, Merit Award and Bursary recipients:

  • Nationality
  • Household per-capita income (refers to total household income divided by number of family members)
  • Discipline of study
  • Relevant track records to the discipline of study
  • MOE Tuition Grant eligibility, etc

Students may apply online and submit the following supporting documents in order to complete the application:

  • Curriculum Vitae which should list your participation in the arts such as exhibitions, performances, competitions and other activities, as well as any awards related to your field of study
  • Copies of your past examination result slip(s)/ transcript(s)
  • Copies of your educational and professional certificates, including records of co-curricular activities
  • Copies of Parents' NRIC/ Passport
  • Copies of all employed family members’ latest payslips, CPF statements, Income Tax assessment or income certification letter by employer
  • Copies of divorce documents if parents are separated/ divorced, where applicable
  • Copies of death certificates if a parent(s) is/are no longer around, where applicable
  • Other information about yourself that may support this application, if any
  • Confidential reference letters from at least ONE referee
  • Medical diagnosis for special needs (applicable only for diploma freshmen who are applying for Dare to Dream Scholarship)

Applicants will need to submit all relevant supporting documents as above (where applicable), within 14 working days after the online application in order to complete the application process. Supporting documents that are submitted after 31 March 2018 (for diploma applicants) and 11 May 2018 (for degree applicants) will not be accepted.

Application for NAFA’s Scholarships, Merit Awards & Bursaries for Diploma & Degree Studies in AY2018/19 has closed.

Only students who are shortlisted for the 'Scholarships' category will be informed by phone and email to attend an interview in person at NAFA.

May 2018 - For incoming new diploma applicants commencing 1st Year of study in August 2018
June 2018 - For existing diploma applicants commencing 2nd or 3rd Year of study in August 2018
June 2018 - For incoming new degree applicants commencing degree study in August 2018

Students who are applying for the 'Merit Awards' and/or 'Bursaries' categories are not required to attend the interview.

Early May 2018 - For incoming new diploma applicants commencing 1st Year of study in August 2018
Early July 2018 - For existing diploma applicants commencing 2nd or 3rd Year of study in August 2018
Early July 2018 - For incoming new degree applicants commencing degree study in August 2018
