Harmony-themed mural by NAFA students on the red bus at the Youth Park

Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Nafa) students - Liza Markus, 22; Siow Ziyi, 23; Nur Fadlin Fazirah, 22; and Nur Yuhanis Yusof, 24 - in front of a mural they painted together with two other students. The mural, on a bus in front of Red Box building, which is home to the Youth Corps Singapore - part of the National Youth Council – represents Singapore’s diverse races, cultures and religions. It aims to give youth a greater appreciation of racial and religious harmony in conjunction with the month of July, which is both Harmony Month and Youth Month. The event was organised by the Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, together with Nafa and Youth Corps Singapore. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education, and Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling said the mural represented the “vigour and aspirations” of youth in Singapore. She urged Singaporeans to “celebrate our common identity and strengthen our resolve to remain united in diversity”.
