In order to encourage the public to deposit trash into litter bins, the Public Health Council collaborated with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) to place three differently designed Trashemon cans in 15 locations across Singapore. These three designs are the winning works of the initiative, all from second-year Design & Media students from NAFA. These Trashemons bins are named Timmy TumTrash, Claire ClawTrash and Eddy EyeTrash. The first two Trashemons were designed by Guo Yihan (20). In an interview, Guo said that she took a month to design the trash cans and was inspired by little rodents. She worked on smoothening the sharp claws of the animals to create a cuter image for the monster. She hopes that these designs will remind the public to feed the Trashemons and prevent littering.
