All Ye Shall Sing 同声高唱 by Chiew Sien Kuan (2016, Ink and mixed media on paper, 150 x 220 cm)
The visual art showcase at the Esplanade has three main highlights, A Little Love Story in Singapore by Chiew Sien Kuan, Candy Garden by Ahmad Abu Bakar, and group exhibition Re-THINGing Gesture in Contemporary Sculptural Practice.
Chew Sien Kuan’s installations recreates the streets of Singapore
At the underground passage from City Hall MRT to the Esplanade, the installation by Chew (56) is eye-catching, allowing passers-by to walk through the streets of old Singapore, passing by Chinatown, the Singapore River, street theatres and churches – narrating the development of Singapore. Chew graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and obtained his Masters in Fine Art in Australia.
