Singapore Tonight: 200 Years of Natural History

08 May 2019

CNA interviewed Peter Ng of Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, featuring Singapore’s natural history for the past two centuries. CNA also covered the historic figure, Alfred Russel Wallace, who closely studied S’pore’s biodiversity in 1854. His discoveries here in Singapore played an important role in the formation of his theories about evolution. Ali, one of Wallace’s trusted assistants was also featured. Ali was a Malay teenager from Sarawak Borneo, known as Malaysia today.

NAFA’s students (from the Fine Art Programme) were chosen to create the final design for the statue of Wallace and Ali, under the guidance of NAFA lecturer Mr Lim Soo Ngee. The students were interviewed by Dawn Tan, CNA‘s presenter.
