On 4 December 2015, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) received a $10-million donation from The Ngee Ann Kongsi, the largest pledge the Academy has received from a donor to date. The bulk of this donation or $9.4m will go towards the NAFA Development Fund to support the cost of building a new NAFA Campus 4 above the upcoming Bencoolen MRT Station. The rest of the donation or $0.6m will go towards The Ngee Ann Kongsi Talent Scholarships, which will be given out to deserving full-time diploma students.
NAFA is deeply appreciative of supporters who have lent a helping hand to our students and the school. This substantial donation by The Ngee Ann Kongsi’s greatly supports NAFA’s vision and aspiration to be the arts institution of choice in Singapore and the region.
NAFA is acknowledging The Ngee Ann Kongsi’s generous contribution with the naming of two existing gallery spaces, formerly known as NAFA Galleries 1 & 2, to “The Ngee Ann Kongsi Galleries 1 & 2”.
Acting Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) & Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence Mr Ong Ye Kung attended the event as Guest-Of-Honour.
