NAFA alumnus Siew Hock Meng’s Alor Setar is one of the works exhibited at “A Journey Through Time”.
Formed in 1974, the second generation artists from NAFA Alumni Association had the privilege to learn directly from the pioneers; many count Georgette Chen as their teacher and Lim Hak Tai as their mentor. To celebrate their alma mater’s 80th birthday, they have organised an exhibition “A Journey Through Time” that showcases 40 works by 21 alumni members. They may have graduated from NAFA more than fifty years ago, but their love for the school that gave them an arts education which changed their lives, would never be forgotten.
The artists participating in this exhibition include Lim Yew Kuan, Chiew Shuey Fook (graduates of 1950), Chua Mia Tee (graduate of 1953), Ho Kah Leong (graduate of 1956), Wee Beng Chong (graduate of 1958), Tay Chee Toh (graduate of 1960), Sim Pang Liang, Wan Soon Kam, Siew Hock Meng (graduates of 1961) and others.
