Violin Masterclass by Itzhak Rashkovsky

Internationally-renowned Russian-Israeli violinist and pedagogue Itzhak Rashkovsky has appeared as a soloist and chamber music player worldwide. As one of the leading and most sought-after teachers in England, where he holds the position of Professor of Violin at the Royal College of Music, his students have been winners of many national and international competitions.

Professor Rashkovsky’s masterclass on 7 October 2014 was attended by our string students, where he gave advice to our violinists pertaining to significant violin repertoire, such as Édouard Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole and Henri Wieniawski’s Second Violin Concerto.

Professor Rashkovsky and his wife, Professor Ani Schnarch, were also featured as soloists in the performance of British composer Malcolm Arnold’s Concerto for Two Violins and String Orchestra, as part of the NAFA Concert Series: English String Music, and accompanied by the NAFA Project Strings under the baton of conductor Lim Yau.
