A celebration of everyday’s matter, colours and materials.

Is a piece of tissue paper more than just a cleaning agent? Have you given a second glance to the fallen branches along the roads? Or can the discarded toys and found objects possibly possess an alternative persona in another dimension? Incorporating everything under the sun, they vary from textures to structures. These prototypes are derived from the use of everyday essentials, with a focus on the use of monochromatic colors. If mundane subjects are more than meets the eye, shouldn’t we celebrate the ordinary normality?

From Mozart to Gershwin: Four Great Works for Two Pianos.
NAFA graduate Teo Li-Chin teams up with Julian Jacobson, professor at the Royal College of Music in the athletic brilliance of Mozart's only sonata for two pianos, continuing with the solid classicism of Brahms's much-loved Haydn Variations, Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", an iconic work from the Jazz Age and concluding with Ravel's riotous "La Valse", in which the whole world of Viennese opulence collapses in a cataclysmic fury, echoing the composer's reaction to the tragedy of the First World War.

Programme:
Mozart - Sonata in D, K. 448
Brahms - Variations on a Theme by J. Haydn, Op. 56b
Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue (for 2 pianos)
